Please watch for lane closures and shifting traffic patterns along Minnesota Ave, NE due to roadway reconstruction as follows:
Motorists are urged to use caution when traveling in these areas, anticipate moderate delays, and be mindful of pedestrians and construction personnel
(Washington, DC)— The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close lanes and shift traffic patterns on Minnesota Ave, NE and Benning Road NE. DDOT will temporarily close the right lane and shift the traffic pattern on northbound Minnesota, NE from Dix St, NE to Benning Rd, NE. Northbound traffic will be shifted to the center of the roadway and one lane of traffic in each direction will be available at all times. This activity will run continuously behind barricades from 7:00 am Friday, June 7, 2019 through 7:00 pm Saturday, June 22, 2019, weather permitting.
Additionally, DDOT will temporarily close a single lane and shift the traffic pattern on eastbound Benning Rd, NE from Minnesota Ave, NE to 39th St, NE. One lane of traffic in each direction will be available at all times. This activity will run continuously on weekends from Friday, 7:00 am through Sunday, 7:00 pm from Friday, June 7, 2019 through Sunday, June 30, 2019, weather permitting.
This work is a part of the ongoing Minnesota Avenue Phase II Rehabilitation Project and is required for roadway reconstruction.

The reconstruction project limits are from Dix St, NE to Sherriff Rd, NE on Minnesota Av, NE. This work is a continuation of the work completed in Phase I which ran from East Capitol Street to Dix St, NE.
